We are looking for Sourcing Manager for a fixed term position until the end of 2019 to join our packaging material purchasing team at Orion. Packaging Materials purchasing team is responsible for Orion’s packaging material supplier base management and competitiveness, and ensuring that the packaging materials supplier portfolio and offering are meeting the requirements of today and tomorrow and contributing to Orion's strategy and business targets.
In your specified area of responsibility, you will be managing the selected supplier base of Orion’s packaging materials. As a sourcing manager you drive the RFQ and supplier selection process, and negotiate pricing, business models and sourcing agreements in a leading role. You own and lead the category strategy work and risk management activities in your area. Driving improvements and actively managing the product/material lifecycle together with other key stakeholders and experts across organizational boundaries to ensure the most optimal set-up for Orion business needs is an essential part of your job. You have an eye for the details, but you also understand the big picture, and you can challenge the status quo, if needed. You’re capable of leading projects and initiatives, and proactively and independently plan actions for the future.

Direct Purchasing is a part of Purchasing & Logistics Organization in Orion Supply Chain. Direct Purchasing is responsible for global purchasing and sourcing for Orion’s own manufacturing including tasks related to sourcing agreements, risk and cost management, category strategies, supplier management and performance.

We are looking for a candidate with 1-2 years of professional experience from global sourcing or supply chain management, but we are also happy to consider candidates who are currently finishing or have recently finished their M.Sc. degree in the field of Business (e.g. SCM, Logistics, Industrial Economics) or in otherwise suitable field.
A positive can-do attitude with excellent co-operation and networking skills are essential to have in this role. As a person we hope you to be curious, goal driven and a motivated self-starter. You also have a natural talent to take the lead and ownership of tasks and ensure and see them through to completion. You have an open and positive growth mindset, and ability to develop and lead things and processes in your sourcing area and in close co-operation with the suppliers and internal stakeholders. You are also eager and motivated to learn and develop yourself actively through work.
The concepts of SRM and category management are familiar to you and you have gained some experience from supplier/commercial agreement negotiations, as well as from pricing and business model negotiations. You communicate and negotiate fluently in English and Finnish, other language skills are seen as benefit.
Good project management skills and some previous project work experience is preferred, and we also appreciate, if you have a good basic understanding on the sourcing and supply chain management. SAP knowledge and category specific knowledge are counted as an asset. In this role some travelling abroad is necessary so we hope that you are willing to travel approx. 20 days per year.
