In our Electric Vehicle Systems business Line (EVBL) we develop and manufacture battery systems from 48V up to High Voltage for automotive and industrial applications. Valmet Automotive covers the full range from contract manufacturing to a TIER1 system supplier.

Here's were you'll make an impact

Valmet Automotive is strengthening its Salo Plant Sourcing function in Finland to support growth and investment in our EV Systems business line. As a Sourcing Engineer, you will be responsible eg. for logistics and packaging sourcing issues in accordance with purchasing strategy. You will work with suppliers all the way through the bidding process, contract negotiations and supplier selection. You keep yourself up-to-date on technology, vendor market trends and supplier portfolio. You also develop the existing sourcing processes with principles of continuous improvement.

Your internal stakeholders are for example Logistics, Production and Finance departments and Plant Management, who you support for activities ranging from small purchases to investment projects. The area of responsibility will be defined more precisely depending on the experience and expertise of the selected candidate. Previous experience in packing material and logistics related issues is an advantage; you will also receive appropriate training. Location: Salo, Finland

We wish you to have

• A degree in business administration, engineering or equivalent.
• Several years of previous professional experience in sourcing (i.e. supplier portfolio management, supplier selection, contract making and price negotiations), experience in working in international environment is an advantage.
• Knowledge of packing material industry as well as logistics related issues is an asset.
• Excellent interpersonal, co-operating and communication skills.
• Independent decision making
• Excellent negotiation skills
• Ability to work under pressure, good multitasking and coordination skills.
• Assertive, results-oriented and proactive person in advancing new ideas and different approaches; willingness to constantly learn.
• Good knowledge of MS Office programs and SAP ERP system
• Good skills in both Finnish and English. Other language skills are an advantage.
