We are looking for an experienced

Solution Owner, DevOps

to join Metsä Group’s ICT unit to strengthen our team. Solution Owner, DevOps will work in Project Management Office (PMO) that has agile methods and tools in its delivery and development, and team of experienced and knowledgeable project/Epic and test managers. In your development duties you are supported e.g. with Product Owners/Product Managers, RTE and with different skills and substance knowledge held. Our team works as trusted companion for Metsä Group’s different business areas with high professional attitude.

Your role in the future Metsä

As a solution owner your main responsibilities include taking on a new role in leading DevOps development in Metsä Forest, and in Metsä Group. You will be leading Metsä Forest system team and supporting the development in Metsä Forest SAFe agile release trains and Epics. One of main areas in the beginning is ensuring successful DevOps transformation in Metsä Forest Wood Supply ERP Renewal. You are also responsible of developing test automation and test practices and CI/CD pipeline development in Agile/DevOps. You are familiar with methodology and tools development and you will suggest best practices in use and take ownership on DevOps and test/test automation tools (such as RTM, GitHub, SonarQube, JFrog, X-Ray, RobotFramework). Tasks include also development teams’ authorization and administration development and maintenance.

What do we expect from you?

We expect that Solution Owner, DevOps has proven practical and senior level experience in leading development activities with strong hands-on involvement to work. First year(s) the duty concentrates on developing further DevOps capabilities in Metsä Forest business area. You have strong knowledge in agile development and leading agile system team. Developing test automation will be part of your duties in this role. We require Agile (e.g. SAFe) certifications when fulfilling the role. Coaching agile ways of working is seen as valuable asset. Role is expected to grow and include also common development of Agile and DevOps generally in Metsä Group, even the focus is at Metsä Forest development and delivery.

Substance knowledge and focus area for Solution Owner, DevOps in this position is to understand generally the ICT’s role and delivery in an industrial company. Knowledge and experience in forest industry helps you to succeed, but is not a must. We expect you to have skills in self-leadership and be a person to take initiatives and make them into action. Good skills in effective communication and change management are a must. Most important though is that you have several years of experience in agile and DevOps development and delivery, you understand the necessity of test automation when organization is transforming more to DevOps, and you are still motivated in learning new. The role we seek is new in our ICT organization and gives space to exciting development of new! The position will be preferably located in Espoo, Finland, but other Metsä Group locations in Finland may be considered.

Candidate experience and competence expectations are:

• University or polytechnic degree
• Expertise in developing and delivering in agile and DevOps, and in test automation
• Excellent command in Jira/Confluence
• Excellent communications and group working skills
• Service-minded personality with capability to manage also own work independently
• Fluent Finnish language is a must with strong capability to communicate in English.

Seen as a plus:

• Practical experience in leading agile projects/leading test in agile projects
• Earlier experience in the industry
