We at Orion Diagnostica are looking for a
Software Modelling Engineer, Instrument Development
to work in a small dynamic R&D Instrument Development team, where you will experience the entire lifecycle of instrument & test development. You will be working with multiple stakeholders, including the subcontractor network. The goal of the R&D Instrument Development Team is to develop innovative and reliable algorithms for OD’s tests, which provides us with a clear competitive advantage over our competitors.
Your tasks will be:
- design and develop system software for in-vitro molecular diagnostic products
- develop data analysis tools and mathematical libraries to support assay platforms
- perform numerical analysis (including curve fitting, statistical modeling, etc.) on system data
- work closely with scientists and engineers to develop statistical models
- create validation plans and procedures, execute or develop automate test suites and create the validation reports
- adapt and optimize R&D algorithms to production-quality software
- participate in troubleshooting activities as necessary to determine the root cause for failures, identify and verify corrective actions
- work according OD’s quality system.
We expect you to have:
- several years working experience with similar tasks
- experience in experimental data analysis
- experience with data processing techniques (e.g. probability theory and multivariate statistical analysis, mathematical modelling of physical phenomena, numerical methods of mathematics)
- ability to document precisely and understandable
- systematic working methods to meet deadlines
- good communication skills in cross functional teams
- fluent written and oral English
- applicable education

Furthermore, we view as a benefit previous working experience with IVD or Medical instruments, embedded SW development experience, fluent oral Finnish and project management skills.
