To further strengthen our sturdy position within the industry, we at Blancco are now growing our cloud-oriented product development team in Joensuu with a new Software developer! In this position, you will play an important role in the development of next-generation cloud solutions.
At first, we’ll let you warm up and get acquainted with our products so you’ll most likely start with contributing to the maintenance of existing versions and actualizing new features to the products. Later, once you’ve had enough time to make yourself at home, we warmly involve you in the design and architecture phases of the development cycle. In the long run, our goal is to match your strengths and points of interest with available tasks and responsibilities as aptly as possible which means you have a genuine possibility to affect your job description. To sum it up, if you’re willing to utilize and further develop your skillset in the vein of full-stack, we promise to enable that. However, if either UI or backend especially tickles your fancy, we’re willing to allow you more responsibility in either.
Regardless of your actual role and its nuances, you will be joining a team of 20 developers working with Scrum methods. Relatedly, we tend to slice our development cycle into two-week sprints under which each team member has strong autonomy to affect their own development work. In addition to the autonomy, we recognize our software development to be moderately complex - thus we expect you to have previous work experience (you might still be a junior or already a senior) from commercial software development with either Java, Python or Typescript. Moreover, we did mention cloud at the beginning of the text - in practical terms this would mean that AWS is something you’re gonna be dealing with a lot at Blancco. Thus, you’d already have to know the basics about the logic behind it but we don’t require related practical experience.
Our developers at Blancco like to challenge the idea of “impossible”, producing elegant, simple, and high-quality solutions, so we hope you share our mindset. This is a great opportunity to undertake personal growth and learn among a global team of experts. Equally, we are looking to learn from you!
In this position, you will be employed directly to Blancco.
- Previous work experience with Java, Python, or Typescript
- Basic knowledge of databases (SQL / NoSQL)
- Ability and aspiration to work autonomously as part of a Scrum team - constantly willing to learn more but also foster colleagues’ development
- Good skills in English
We appreciate but don’t require:
- Prior practical experience in AWS or other public cloud services (e.g. AWS EC2, CodePipeline, Lambda, S3, CloudFormation, …)
- Knowledge of UI development (Typescript, React)
What we offer:
At Blancco, we want people to enjoy the work that they do and have fun. We think that the basis is created with interesting projects and a good working atmosphere. You will work with the latest technologies and have the chance to make a significant contribution to the products of a highly successful and growing company.
Besides working together, we do a lot of other stuff like sports & other activities, events, and parties. If you join our team you will be working with talented colleagues who have a passion for industry-leading technology. As an employer, we want to support your development and work by offering training and providing our team members latest tools, equipment, and common fringe benefits such as lunch and sports vouchers. In addition, we have a collaborative and unpretentious environment where creativity is valued. We strive for diversity in our work teams and are committed to equal opportunity and providing an equitable workplace.
