Stora Enso has announced investment for conversion of the Oulu paper mill into packaging board production. The conversion of Oulu Mill will enable Stora Enso to further improve its position in the growing packaging solutions businesses and take a major step in its transformation. Capital expenditure for the conversion is approximately EUR 350 million during years 2019–2021. The production on the new line will start during 2020. Paper production at Oulu Mill will continue until 3rd quarter of 2020.

Site Manager, Industrial building

We are looking for an experienced industrial building professional to join our project team with temporary contract.

You will have responsibility of planning, scheduling, coordination, leading contractors and follow-up of overall construction works of the project. We appreciate suitable experience, innovative approach and ability to find new cost effective concepts, methods and operation models. If you have experience on working in investments projects or you have driven to develop yourself in project work don´t hesitate to contact us.

Main tasks in Industrial building area

  • Promotion of work safety on site.
  • Participation for procurement preparation of construction works and other contracts in industrial building area.
  • Supplier’s coordination and progress follow-up at site.
  • Responsibility for being general superintendent and foreman for area supervisors of the construction site.
  • Responsibility for keeping the agreed budget and schedule of project construction works.
  • Responsibility for starting, implementation, reporting, documentation and handing over of construction and building works.


  • Strong project experience and merits in large investment projects.
  • Experience on Paper mill brown field projects and challenging investment shutdowns.
  • Strong knowledge of the plant and other construction areas of the projects.
  • Result-orientation combined with good communication and leadership skills.
  • Advanced cooperation and team working skills play an important role.
  • Ability to cope with high workload and stressful situations.
  • Fluency in spoken and written English. Additional languages to be seen as a merit.
  • Master’s/ college degree in a relevant area.

The position is temporary until 31.12.2020 starting as soon as possible.
