At the same time, Destia is planning to chart new business opportunities in Northern Sweden and Northern Norway. Therefore we are looking for experienced experts to join our cause for connecting northern life.  

Thus, we are looking for a Site Manager to join our construction of a wind farm in Mutkalampi.

What we offer

The Mutkalampi Wind Farm project will be carried out in accordance with Destia’s requirements and therefore you will get to work closely with the Project Manager in order to achieve the key milestones. As the Site Manager, you will be helping civil and electrical contractors with local contacts to facilitate everyday issues and contribute to the adaptation of the site office for Destia business needs.

Some of your central responsibilities as the Site Manager include interfacing with local representatives, vendors, and any applicable regulatory personnel. Together with the Project Manager you will identify project stakeholders as well as create, align, and satisfy their needs. As a part of the construction, you will be monitoring the contractors' QA/QC work. You will also have the responsibility to ensure that tight control of the project planning, schedule, production, budgeting, procurement, reporting, and billing requirements are met. Additionally, you will have to manage and hold toolbox meetings with contractors as well as communicate the status of the project with all levels of personnel.  

In the Site Manager’s role, you will also be working as a supervisor, during which you will get to conduct the resourcing of the project’s personnel together with the Project Manager. You will be responsible for recruiting and onboarding new employees to the project as well as ensuring the continuation of their professional development. Together with the project personnel you will also be assessing program risks and producing mitigation plans. You will also get the opportunity to identify alternative methods to monitor and improve project completion and you will liaise with designers, subcontractors, clients and third parties e.g. Statutory Authorities.

As the Site Manager you will act as the nominated safety coordinator on behalf of the Employer (Government Act 205/2009) and you will need to monitor the contractors' health, well-being, safety, security, and environment work as well as participate and carry out safety inspections. You will have to monitor and document that the civil work, electrical work, turbine supply, installation, and commissioning are in accordance with agreements.

What we expect

In accordance with your role, you will need to have fitting level of education (at least from an applied sciences university) and an extensive background as well as general knowledge about the construction of wind power. Additionally, we expect you to have expert knowledge about contract and construction management in civil and electrical engineering, in-depth knowledge about construction processes (civil and electrical) on wind farms as well as quality assurance and good understanding of other contracts in construction.

We especially appreciate the proactive and positive attitude to grasp your tasks and take care of them systematically and reliably from start to finish. In this role you will need to rely your excellent communication and problem-solving skills. You are expected to have the capability to communicate fluently in English
