We are now looking for a Site Manager to join BASF and their Harjavalta’s battery chemical new production site. The site is under construction now and will be started in a few months, and you will be responsible for managing the site including managing the site team and running the plant. The position is permanent, and the beginning of the role will be at latest on March.

As a Site Manager you are a key part in developing and running the site all the way from the early before startup of the production. You will join the site in its first phase of set-up and ramp-up which will later be followed by phases two and three. As the site is up and running your role will be to handle the operative side of daily business all the way from the operational side to personnel leading and safety related tasks including complying with local legal regulations and laws. You are also key part in implementing the BASF operational principles and battery material strategy, as well as developing them. Budgeting is also one of your main responsibilities.

We expect you to have previous experience in managerial tasks in the industrial sector, preferably from chemical/mining/battery material process industry. You should also possess great people leading skills. We also expect you to have a master’s level degree in either technical or commercial field. You are fluent in written and spoken Finnish and English. German language skill is beneficial.

This role offers you a unique opportunity to take part in setting up and starting up a production site from operative side of business and develop it further. You are supported by BASF’s Finnish organization as well as their global organizations.
