Do you want to become part of a company known to be a fast-paced global leader in serving science? Thermo Fisher Scientific is now hiring two Factory Service Engineers to join our Microbiology Division.

As a Factory Service Engineer you will provide service support for advanced clinical microbiology instrument solutions. We will provide you with an environment of challenging work, growth and development opportunities throughout the course of your career.

Responsibilities:

  • Providing advanced service support to our global field service organization by acting as a remote technical escalation point for complex queries, also including some on-site service and installation assistance (at European internal and external customer sites)
  • Maintain and support LC/MSMS instruments and instrument sub-assemblies in our Vantaa factory and (less frequently) in our other European sites
  • Design, develop and deliver trainings for field service engineers
  • Prepare and create spare part management processes
  • Maintain and create technical documentation including service manuals and service bulletins
  • Collect and analyze service data, make recommendations for service improvements based on analysis
  • Supporting vigilance procedure; ensure that complaints are processed and reviewed with Regulatory. Ensure that product and market issues are communicated effectively to the business
  • Continuously develop knowledge and skills needed in the role, both using internally supplied training and via external meetings and conferences
  • Act as a customer advocate to ensure a positive internal and external customer experience

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Technical degree in electronics, engineering, biomedical technology, microbiology or other applicable field of study
  • Professional background in Electronics/Mechanics/Engineering or related subjects
  • Customer orientation – the position requires frequent contact with internal and external customers. Interactions include written and verbal communication with technical professionals, telephone and email communication with prospective and current customers
  • Strong analytical and technical problem solving skills
  • Demonstrated organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks with different priorities
  • Good IT skills
  • Excellent written and spoken English
  • Ability to travel in Europe (up to 15% of working days)
  • European driving license

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in field servicing analytical laboratory instrumentation
  • Experience in liquid chromatography and mass spectrometry
  • Experience in the in-vitro diagnostic marketplace
  • A second European language
