Want to change how people move and travel for good? The biggest disruption in transport since the invention of the automobile is taking place, and we at MaaS Global want to lead that change. We aim to be the world's first global Mobility Operator, helping people move with our award-winning Whim application. We are trying something revolutionary and we are seeking people that want to be part of this.
The innovative Whim-service is built on Serverless and Node.js – this is a great opportunity for an enthusiastic software professional to come on board and help us change the world with their contribution to either the core services or peripherals like user portal front-end and the various partner API integrations.
The backend/full stack developer works as part of the Whim service development team, creating new features and maintaining existing functionality in the Whim service. These include for example the business logic for routing and products offered, integrating new mobility modes such as e-scooters, trains and car sharing and working with the wider team on implementing new mobility subscription models, payment methods, applying machine learning and much more.
The successful candidate should master NodeJS (using ES6 or higher). Familiarity with Amazon Web Services, Lambda and managed services like DynamoDB, Firehose or Cognito is also required.
Test driven development enablers and test frameworks are also heavily utilised in the daily operation so being productive requires experience with tools like Mocha, Expect and Jest. Know-how on CI/CD pipelines using e.g. Travis/CircleCI is also a bonus.
Frontend development experience is a plus and there will be projects where experience with React, Vue and other frontend technologies can be utilised.
You will work onsite at the MaaS Global office that is located in the heart of Helsinki, Finland. Relocation to Helsinki area is required.
