Are you creative, experienced in statistical modelling and fascinated by a big data? If yes, we are looking for you, a Senior Risk Analyst, to join our vivid and passionate Risk models unit. Working with us, you will participate in one of the most important programs in the bank. The position is located in Vallila, Helsinki.


About the position


In the heart of banking business is the quality of credit facilities. Hence, measuring and modelling credit risk are essential parts of credit risk management. Working in Risk models unit provides you with the unique opportunity to understand the core of banking and credit risk through mathematical and statistical models. In addition to PD, LGD and EAD models, we develop models and methods for credit risk stress testing.


In OP, we strive for understandable and high standard models developed according to international best practices. We rely on good quality data, deep understanding of business and regulation and common ways of working. Our unit strive for effective communication, efficient decision making, clear audit-trail and good quality documentation. We challenge each other for higher achievements.


What we expect from you


You have a minimum of five years previous work experience on statistical modelling. You can demonstrate good problem solving, analysing and documenting skills. You have experience in bringing projects and tasks to a conclusion. You are familiar with large databases and have proven skills in coding R, Python or SQL. Documenting your work comes naturally to you and you feel comfortable to share your ideas in the beginning stages of a job as well as throughout the project.


You have experience in working with both internal and external stakeholders and you have the patience and proven ability to explain complicated things in an understandable manner. You take responsibility for your work and look for the best possible solution given time and data constraints. Even though you work and prioritise independently, you are also a team player who likes to help others and strives for a common goal. You are prepared to look for answers even if they are not so straightforward to find. You enjoy getting things done while at the same time you are happy to receive feedback to develop your professional career even further.


You have a Master's degree or a PhD on Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Data Science, Economics or other suitable education with an orientation towards quantitative analysis. You understand and are able to analyse economic dependencies. Your English is fluent.

Previous experience in credit risk modelling and an understanding on the banking regulation are considered an advantage.

You will familiarize yourself with different kind of risk models and their use. You will work as Lead Analyst in a modelling project and share your knowledge and ideas with other members of the project team. You will work closely with stakeholders to understand the phenomena in credit risk, economics and customer behavior. Further, you will get thorough understanding of and possibility to influence on credit risk measurement and modelling in decision making, portfolio monitoring and management.


In our team you will be working with enthusiastic colleagues, share knowledge through chats, recordings and careful documentation, and develop our ways of working further. We aim for better risk models efficiently done.
