We are looking for a Senior R&D Engineer at ABB Oy, Motors and Generators unit in Helsinki. You will be working in a team responsible for electrical insulation systems and materials for the global business unit Motors and Generators.
Your responsibilities will include the planning and reporting of laboratory tests on insulation materials for rotating electrical machines. The material tests will focus on electrical, mechanical or thermal material qualities, chemical analyses or production experiments. Cooperation with people in product development, production, the supply chain and ABB’s Corporate Research Centers will be a part of your work. This position will give you the opportunity to work in a high-tech environment and grow into an expert in insulation technology and/or project manager of the insulation system development projects.
We require a M.Sc. degree in technology or science e.g. in electrical/mechanical engineering or polymer chemistry. You may already have previous experience in rotating electrical machines and you are eager to learn and expand your expertise into insulation systems. You are cooperative, but also able to work and search for information independently. Your communication skills are good, and you speak and write English well. Knowledge of the Finnish language is considered as an advantage.
