Senior Network Engineer

We are looking for a Senior Network Engineer to join the Global IT Network team to support a busy, transforming and dynamic Global IT Infrastructure department.

In this role your core responsibilities will include the administration and support of our global network platforms. You perform network monitoring, identification and resolution of network performance issues, including wireless network (Extreme) platform management and administration. Landis+Gyr is closely partnering with Google Cloud, and you will also have a chance to participate in the global projects such as Google Cloud Platform network design, administration and support. In addition, your responsibilities will include:

• WAN, WLAN and SD-WAN support
• Check point firewall administration and support (on-premises and GCP)
• VPN design, implementation and support incl. 3rd party provided services
• Selection, implementation and support of internet (DIA) services at sites across EMEA
• Collaboration with network team and wider IT Infrastructure/IT function liaison

You have already proven your skills as an experienced network engineer/professional and you have built, administered and/or supported corporate network services. You are familiar with areas such as WAN, LAN, SD-WAN, Wireless and VPN and have experience on TCP/IP, Checkpoint and Cisco ASA firewall. It is highly beneficial if you have experience in building and administering Cloud networking technologies, e.g., GCP, Azure, AWS. We also appreciate if you have:

• Experience with IaC (Terraform scripting)
• Understanding and experience with SD-WAN and wireless technology (Versa & Extreme)
• ISTM and change management experience (ITIL)
• Advanced network troubleshooting and problem solving – Wireshark & Packet inspection
• Platform documentation and solution design – HLD, LLD & Support guidance

As a person you are a team player and strongly committed to quality in everything you do. You are able to execute project tasks and ensure overall delivery. Working in a vendor facing role is familiar to you and it is a big advantage if you have experience in operating in international, cross functional environment.
