Senior In-house Legal Counsel

Euroclear Finland is looking for a Senior Legal Counsel to be based in Helsinki. As an in-house Legal Counsel you will support the business in their project and development work and co-operation with the financial firms and corporations who are Euroclear Finland´s clients. The legal areas you need strong knowledge on are custody, tax, corporate, securities, contract law and corporate governance. You will also be working with Euroclear group-wide business projects and EU legislative initiatives.

Your qualifications

We are looking for a highly qualified lawyer who has already gained experience and has track record in large projects/programs. You are used to working within fast pace global matrix organization, both as a part of a larger team and also independently. You are diligent team player with high integrity and ability to see both the big picture and the finer details.

Experience from financial sector working in either a bank or investment firm as an in-house counsel or similar matters in a law firm is valued.   

The person we are looking for should have:

  • A master’s degree in Finnish law
  • 4-6  years of relevant work experience  
  • Strong negotiations and coordination skills, a strong business mind and accountability
  • Excellent written and oral skills in Finnish and English. Proficiency in other languages being an asset
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to work both independently and part of a team
  • Ability to work in a fast pace international and multicultural environment
  • Willingness to travel

You will be a part of a legal team and will report directly to the Head of Legal and Regulatory Affairs Ms Kati Honkajuuri-Kokkonen.

Our office is located in central Helsinki in Kamppi.  The standard security clearance according to the Security Clearance act 726/2014 will be conducted for the selected person. Also the person selected for the position must pass a health examination that includes a drug test.
