Sandvik Mining and Rock Solutions is the leading provider of equipment and tools as well as maintenance and technical services for the mining industry. Its products include drill rigs, mechanical mining equipment, crushers, loading and hauling equipment and material processing equipment.
Our Systems Engineering team is now looking for a SENIOR ELECTRICAL ENGINEER to be employed by Sandvik the Underground Drilling Division to develop and integrate latest technologies on our journey towards Electrified and Autonomous mining. The recruitment process is handled by StaffPoint and the employment contract will be signed directly with Sandvik. The position is permanent and based in Tampere, Finland.
Your role:
As Electrical Engineer you are responsible for designing safe and robust electrical systems for mobile underground drill rigs. You will contribute to system design, application design, component selection process, technical documentation, production support and testing. You will create and manage electric system requirements and product options. Your responsibilities include support for prototype ramp-up, system verification and product engineering. Additionally you will solve electric system related issues from field and production.

Your background and what we find important:
The qualified candidate has a B.Sc. or M.Sc. degree in electrical engineering and few years of experience from suitable field. Experience in power electronics, electric motor drives, battery electric vehicles, heavy machinery, mobile equipment and mining and construction business are highly valued. You have good understanding of Low Voltage and Extra Low Voltage electrical legislation and standards. Using your skills and experience you are able to evaluate the suitability of technical solutions and components against the tough mining environment of our products. Understanding of hydraulics, mechanics and control systems of mobile equipment and machines is a strong bonus. You have worked with intelligent electrical schematic tools (e.g. EPlan, E3, Vertex) and Product Data Management -systems (e.g. TeamCenter).
You take your own initiative and you are self-guided. You are able to clearly and fluently express your solutions and ideas to our internal or external customers in English and in Finnish. You are actively networking yourself and eager to learn new things and systems. You are ready to work in an underground mine environment. You demonstrate very high service attitude even under stress and cope with wide variety of customer demands.
