Työn kuvaus:
  We are looking for a Senior Data Analyst for our client in Helsinki. This is a fixed term full time position and starts as soon as the suitable person has been chosen. This is a fixed term job until end of April 2019. Employment contract will be signed between the employee and Adecco Finland. Our client is big media company and one of Europe’s leading learning companies, their print, digital and hybrid solutions help make primary, secondary and vocational education more effective.
The Senior Data Analyst will lead our efforts to turn data into information, information into insight and insight into business decisions. You will conduct full lifecycle activities to include requirements analysis and design, develop analysis and reporting capabilities, and continuously monitor performance and quality control plans to identify improvements.

Working relationships 
• Application Developers - working very closely with dev teams responsible. 
• Project Managers - working very closely with project managers effectively working across multiple projects and delivering to deadlines. 

• Interpret data, analyze results using statistical techniques and provide ongoing reports 
• Develop and implement data collection systems and other strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and data quality 
• Acquire data from primary or secondary data sources and maintain databases/data systems 
• Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets 
• Filter and “clean” data, and review computer reports, printouts, and performance indicators to locate and correct code problems 
• Work closely with management to prioritize business and information needs 
• Locate and define new process improvement opportunities

Skills and Qualifications 
• Proven working experience as a ETL developer, data analyst 
• Technical expertise regarding data models, database design development, data mining and segmentation techniques 
• Strong knowledge of and experience with reporting packages (Business Objects etc), databases (SQL, Amazon Redshift), programming (ETL frameworks, SAS, SAS Data Integration) 
• Knowledge of statistics and experience using statistical packages for analysing large datasets (Excel, SPSS, SAS etc) 
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organise, analyse, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy 
• Adept at queries, report writing and presenting findings 
• Must be detail oriented, a self-starter and a strong team player 
• Good verbal and written communication, time management and organisational skills 
• Ability to multi-task and establish priorities 
• Express difficult and complex concepts clearly and concisely both orally and in writing 
• Write clear and logical reports, program documentation, and instructions 
• Work effectively and independently on assigned projects 
• Establish and maintain effective and cooperative working relationships with administrators, technical and functional team members, and users 
• Meet established priorities and schedules 
• Learn and apply new concepts in information technology 
• Learn the characteristics of new systems and update skills to adapt to changing technology

Experience Required 
• BS in Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, Information Management or Statistics 
• Experience in data modelling and analytics projects 
• Experience in data analytics (5 years +)
