Our client European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) is looking for a Scientific Administrative Support fixed term employment relationship. The position is starting as soon as possible and will continue until 13/12/2019. The work environment is very international and youthful and the office is located in Helsinki city center.

General description:

The Scientific administrative support staff will assist the Data availability and quality team in the tasks related to the scientific and operational activities of the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA). In particular, they will work in the area of technical completeness check (TCC) of REACH registration data and contribute to the activities to improve the availability of high quality data in the Agency

- Perform completeness checks on registration dossiers according to Article 20(2) of REACH.
- Carry out administrative tasks to process the dossiers and document the decisions in the REACH-IT submission system.
- Contribute to the manual inspection of data elements at completeness check, to validate that the content provided by registrants falls within the REACH provisions. To this end, develop expertise in assessing regulatory and scientific justifications for waiving of study information and for deviations from substance identification guidelines.
- Support the further streamlining of the completeness check process. Provide input to the development of the working instructions in close collaboration with scientific and regulatory experts.
- Support the decision sending for technical completeness check rejections.
- Provide company support by drafting answers to Helpdesk questions and placing company calls.
- Support the reporting and impact assessment of completeness check, and the further development of the IUCLID Validation assistant.
