The Nordic Regional Security Coordinator (RSC) is the joint office for the four electricity Transmission System Operations (TSOs) in the Nordic region. The RSC supports the national TSOs in maintaining the operational security of the power systems across Finland, Norway, Sweden and Denmark. The office is located in Copenhagen. Some parts of the operational processes of RSC have already started, but most of the business processes are still under development. Work continues to develop the tools and especially for next two year’s there will be a focus on developing tools for the Flow Based capacity calculation.

Regional Security Coordination Engineer in Copenhagen

RSC Engineer participates in the development of the RSC business processes and implementation of the IT tools. The engineer will also participate in the development and operation of the following main services:

  • Common Grid Model Delivery (CGM)
  • Coordinated Security Analysis (CSA)
  • Coordinated Capacity Calculation (CCC)
  • Short Term Adequacy (SMTA)
  • Outage Planning Coordination (OPC)

The tasks are dependent on the employee´s knowledge and interest.


  • Basic knowledge of the Nordic and Finnish power system
  • Motivation to work in project environment
  • Knowledge of network modelling and calculations (e.g. load-flow, stability studies)
  • Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience
  • Ability to work in shifts

Experience in grid modeling and tools used for operational planning/analysis is an advantage. It will also be beneficial if you have interest on working with IT systems. You can be recently graduated or have a longer experience in the field. The most important thing is your motivation and eagerness to learn new things.

As a Nordic RSC employee, you have a Nordic mindset with a cooperative and flexible attitude. You are efficient and self-dependent in your work as well as service-oriented. You will report to the Nordic RSC Daily Manager as well as to your local TSO Manager. You have good communication skills in English.
