The Risk Control & Reporting unit (RC&R) in If is part of the Risk Management organisation and responsible for coordinating and securing the overall risk management in the If Group. RC&R is responsible for independent analysis of the organisation’s risks as well as advising and monitoring the business and corporate functions regarding risk control issues. In addition, RC&R is responsible for validation of If’s internal model. Internal model is a stochastic capital model, used for calculating If’s solvency capital requirement and as a risk management tool. The purpose of internal model validation is to assess the properties of the model through quantitative and qualitative tests on a continuous basis.

We are now seeking to recruit a Risk Officer with the main responsibility to work with the internal model validation. The position is located in Turku and will report to the Risk Control team leader in Stockholm. Some travelling will be required.

Your Opportunity:

  • Hold the unique opportunity to learn how capital flows are modelled in If Group
  • Perform both quantitative and qualitative tests on the internal model to assess model performance on a continuous basis
  • Work independently with interesting and challenging tasks in a project-like environment while getting the support you need from the team
  • Release your inner investigator by digging into the details of modelling implementation and analysing the larger picture regarding the modelling assumptions
  • Develop the methods used to evaluate the internal model
  • Opportunity to support in other risk control tasks

Your Profile:

  • University degree such as Mathematics or Statistics;
  • No previous experience of similar tasks is expected;
  • The ability to independently work on challenging problems, analyse data and scientific articles;
  • Strong cooperation skills to discuss and present the on-going work;
  • Self-driven, structured problem solver with proven analytical skills;
  • Fluent in English with excellent writing and reading skills;
  • Programming skills and knowledge of the Solvency II framework for internal models are an asset but not a necessity
