Your research will be part of the Coherent Security research program, and you will concentrate on IT solutions and research relevant to border and maritime security and safety. You will apply for funding for research, development and innovation (RDI) projects and lead the projects, conduct research and publish, and supervise theses of Laurea students.
You RDI work will focus on security and safety digital solutions, e.g. information sharing technologies. The emphasis is on civilian based solutions for the needs of practitioners, industry, academia and NGO actors at national and EU level. The research and project topics require knowledge of existing and future information sharing technologies used in border and maritime entities. Your tasks require collaboration with national and international partners, knowledge of the development needs of the European maritime and border authorities in their operating environment. Your work will benefit from the networks and cooperation with Finnish and international partners already established by Laurea University of Applied Sciences and your contribution to the networks is a strong point.
