We are looking for a
Researcher / Senior Researcher, Agriculture

to strengthen our Feedstock Research Group. Our group is a part of the Feedstock and Pretreatment Department in Neste Innovation. We contribute to the development of Neste's future raw materials, the ones in prospect within mid and long term, and their value chains. We are responsible for delivering competence and solutions enabling the use of new renewable, recycled, and scalable raw materials for the production of fuels, chemicals, and materials.

As a Researcher / Senior Researcher, Agriculture you will work in our Innovation unit projects supporting feedstock supply organisations in their initiatives to ensure success of Neste´s long-term renewable feedstock strategy.

In this role, you will

• Research and apply knowledge to utilise advanced agricultural concepts, such as, winter cropping, silvopasture, and/or cultivating crops on severely degraded land to derive additional volumes of sustainable crop-based oils for our production
• Plan, organise, lead, and report internal and external analysis and experimental research related to the advanced agricultural concepts
• Act as an expert related to agricultural issues, e.g.
• Provide technical expertise for Neste decision making process
• Support long-term strategy work for sustainable raw materials
• Provide business development with technical support
• Be based at the Technology Centre in Porvoo, Finland or our office in Hoofddorp, Amsterdam area, the Netherlands.

You will work closely with a cross-functional team of experts, business development, technology development, engineering, and with various external partners. Our work combines accountability, cooperation, and the desire to develop and renew.

Keys to success in this role

The best combination of experiences, skills, and background is

• Master's degree or higher from a relevant field, e.g., Agriculture and economics, Forestry and forestry economics, Biology.
• At least 5 years (Researcher) or 10 years (Senior Researcher) of relevant experience from research and/or development projects
• Experience in building networks and cooperating with external partners such as farmers, consultants, researchers, and other stakeholders
• Technical expertise combined with a practical approach and commercial mindset
• Strong project management, communication and interpersonal skills
• Professional English skills
