We are now looking for a highly motivated


for a fixed-term position in Rajamäki, Finland.

This position is a parental leave replacement in the Molecular Biology unit until December 31, 2019. If your application is successful, you will be joining us at an exciting time. Due to our excellent growth in recent years, we are now working to ensure that we can sustain this growth. In your role as Research Scientist in Molecular Biology, you will be an active member of the project team(s) in R & D. Your main responsibility will be to execute and deliver project tasks and goals in accordance with agreed schedules. Your work will include planning, executing, documenting, analysing, and reporting to the line manager, other scientists, and other stakeholders. It is important that you adhere to our agreed standards and HSE practices.

Your required qualifications and skills include:

  • a master’s degree or better in molecular biology (i.e., biotechnology or genetics) or an adjacent science (e.g., biochemistry or microbiology), with at least a minor in molecular biology;
  • experience in gene technology, microbial and protein chemistry methodologies;
  • experience in fungal and bacterial production platforms (optional);
  • familiarity with enzyme technology (optional);
  • fluent written and spoken English;
  • strong communication skills;
  • self-motivation as well as a hands-on and strong-finisher attitude;
  • result-oriented and innovative thinking;
  • experience in project work;
  • proactive problem solving;
  • good interaction and the ability to work in a team; and
  • the willingness to expand your scientific knowledge.
