In this position, you will be a part of the Applied Quantum Electronics team within the National Centre of Excellence – Quantum Technology Finland (QTF) (https://qtf.fi/), which joins the forces of the leading research groups in Finland.
With us you will be responsible for experimental and design work related to superconducting quantum technology. Your immediate obligations will involve the development of Josephson parametric amplifier technology for the European quantum flagship project “OpenSuperQ” (http://opensuperq.eu/) aiming to realize a scalable superconducting quantum computer. Together with our project team, you will develop experimental capabilities, and carry out cryogenic device characterization. Your duties will also include developing physical models, performing simulations, and designing the devices, to be fabricated in the industrial clean room of Micronova (http://www.micronova.fi/nanofabrication_centre-002/micronova_nanofabrication_cleanroom/). In a longer term, we expect you to contribute to the fields of superconducting electronics and solid-state quantum technology in a versatile manner.
We expect you to have a higher academic degree (MSc, PhD, or equivalent) in physics or electrical engineering (or a related field). You should have experience in the fields including:
