VTT Food research is focusing on developing innovations that enable transition towards more sustainable food ecosystem. The team aims at developing new sustainable food manufacturing solutions via utilizing novel processing approaches and multi-functional hybrid ingredients that meet consumer needs and preferences.

With us you will be responsible for

building the excellence in consumer-centric food and eating solutions and services. Passion to work for realizing Food Economy 4.0 vision paths is highly valued, and you are expected to take a strong role - preferably from nutrition perspective - in designing new food and eating concepts. The applicant is expected to have concrete knowledge on nutrition, but also food and eating solutions and services that can promote health and wellbeing. Understanding on new technologies, e.g. self-monitoring tools and personalized nutrition as part of future food solutions, as well as consumer insight is highly appreciated

We expect you to have

  • Completed PhD degree or corresponding experience in nutrition, food science or relevant field.
  • Understanding on health-tech solutions, self-monitoring tools and personalized nutrition
  • Track record in applying project funding and project management
  • Ability to conduct academic and contract research within an interdisciplinary environment
  • Excellent communication, reporting and organizational skills
  • Networks within industry as well as scientific community

As a person you are

A good interdisciplinary team worker with pro-active and independent attitude and passion for disruptive food research. You should have a mind-set for cross-disciplinary innovations and industry-oriented evaluation of scientific findings and ambition to turn research to business.
