Field of Research of the Professorship:
Optoelectronics and optical measurement techniques: especially optical imaging methods, machine vision, optical dimension measurements, optical on-line analytics and spectroscopy, optical and optoelectronic instrument design.
Strategic background - Industry renewal:
With help of robotization, automation and artificial intelligence industrial production can be more effective and lower production costs. Optical measurement and inspection techniques have significant role in industrial real time quality control, automation and process control. Development of autonomous vehicles is strongly based on optical measurement techniques and camera systems. Security applications and inspection is increasing and development of these systems are based on optics and optoelectronics. In generally environmental monitoring is increasing and intelligence will be integrated closer to measured phenomenon when computing power increases.
Optoelectronic measurement techniques Research Professorship strengthens and supports research and development of novel intelligent optoelectronic measurement techniques and instruments.
We expect you to have
Successful development of novel intelligent optoelectronic measurement techniques and instruments require deep understanding and experience on measurement physics, calibration methods, signal processing, optoelectronics, development of optoelectronic measurement technologies in some above mentioned relevant application area as well as clear research vision towards future needs in this research area. We also require strong experience in international and national networking, and proven capabilities to preparation, execution and leading large EU, international and national R/D projects. The Research Professor also supervises younger researchers’ work and their thesis. Industrial background, experience on commercialization of research results and strong industrial stakeholder contact network is appreciated. The applicant is expected to have doctoral degree in relevant field.
