What you will be doing
You will be part of a team that ensures awareness of regulation and legislation within the bank and supports the business units with interpretation, implementation and follow-up of regulatory requirements. You will analyze the impact of forthcoming regulatory changes and ensure that relevant stakeholders are kept informed. You will have a key role in driving and coordinating regulatory initiatives. Your responsibilities include quality assurance within existing regulation as well as the implementation of new regulation and the development of business processes accordingly. Ability to find relevant information, assess it and apply it to the daily banking business is vital in this role. Advising and supporting stakeholders with regulatory matters as well as reinforcing first line compliance culture across the organization is of essence in your performance.
Our team adds value by enabling the business units to comply with and take strategic decisions on upcoming regulatory changes. As a Regulatory Officer you will contribute to the developing of the regulatory strategy and compliance in the first line. To fulfill this vision, you have to be able to work across internal units, drawing support from first, second- and third-line functions. Solving business cases operationally and process-wise according to regulation is your core responsibility.
Who we are looking for
To succeed in this role, you have fundamental understanding of and interest in the field of financial regulation and you have analytical and critical, yet open mind. You have good influencing and collaboration skills and strong business orientation. Reading and interpreting guidelines, laws and changing regulations, and turning them into company practice is characteristic to you. Furthermore, you feel comfortable in advising the organization and you have perseverance in the face of complex cases.
Excellent organisational skills, structured way of working and previous work experience in the area of financial regulation, risk or quality control in a regulated financial organisation is regarded as an advantage. Various internal stakeholders trust in our high-quality advice, which is why the ability to break down and communicate complex information in an understandable, even in a creative way, is of essence in this position. Diligence, integrity, and determination will help you to become an expert in this field. We expect you to have a master’s degree in law and fluent written and spoken Finnish and English.
