We are looking for a Regional Business Development Manager to join our team at Trimble, preferably in Espoo or in Mikkeli, Finland.

The primary function of the position is to successfully sell the company's Wedge process analytics and diagnostic software application and implementation services to industrial clients through appropriate prospecting and sales and client relationship development activities.

The Regional Business Development Manager for Finland and Europe will be expected to win, maintain and expand relationships with assigned accounts and generate new customer relationships. The Regional Business Development Manager will achieve revenue targets through implementing and reinforcing solid sales practices and execution of agreed action plans. The Regional Business Development Manager is responsible for achieving sales objectives by growing the business with existing accounts and winning accounts.

Main Responsibilities

  • Develop a thorough understanding of the company's Wedge Process Analytics and Diagnostics software; and of the markets we serve (Finland, Scandinavia, Europe excluding German speaking area).
  • Lead/manage a complex sales cycle by executing solutions oriented and consultative sales strategies across a detailed sales process.
  • Work closely with our Sales Engineering team to conduct client facing product demonstrations.
  • Meet or exceed assigned growth objectives.
  • Take ownership of existing accounts and sales projects.
  • Help coordinate the development, rollout and implementation of services to clients.
  • Preparing business and sales opportunities, solutions proposals, contracts and order follow-up together with relevant resources from the Trimble organization to ensure successful outcome.
  • Closing new business with assigned Accounts (development job) and build up strong customer relationships while ensuring high level of customer satisfaction.
  • Manage sales forecast and pipeline report with a broader sales organization. Partner with marketing and inside sales on lead generation ideas and consistently maintain a pipeline of new sales opportunities each month.
  • Develop a business plan for new account generation throughout your targeted territory and quarterly action plans to execute against assigned bookings revenue goals for the region.
  • Frequent business travel
  • Reporting according to Trimble practices.

Characteristics / Skills

  • Ability to identify new sales opportunities and develop a plan to get “in the door”.
  • Understanding of complex selling situations and negotiations; as well as consultative & strategic selling techniques.
  • Comfortable working with all levels of the organization user up to Executives.
  • Demonstrated success in growing sales revenue and client base in a region or market segment.
  • Ability to create and maintain sales forecasts, and report on sales progress.
  • Responsive, professional and sales-driven.
  • Client-focused.
  • Positive, reliable, confident, curious and active.
  • Versatile and adaptable in a fast-paced environment.
  • Business-level Finnish and English language skills.
  • Process industry or engineering background where possible. 

Education / Experience

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Business or related field, or an equivalent combination of experience and/or education.
  • Sales experience on a national or regional level.
  • Successful consultative selling of value-added and technical solutions and familiar with SaaS based applications.
