PerkinElmer is currently looking for R&D Project Manager

Turku, Finland

The Turku Site, with 550 employees, represents one of PerkinElmer’s major manufacturing and product development sites for newborn-, maternal fetal health-, and prenatal screening. As the global market leader in newborn screening, our solutions have tested over 560 million babies worldwide for life-threatening diseases.

We are looking for an R&D Project Manager to strengthen our Project Management team.

Project Managers at PerkinElmer Turku site lead projects from development to launch of new system solutions for our Diagnostics business. The system solutions consist of reagents, software and instruments used in vitro diagnostics (IVD) environments globally.

Project Manager Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that all projects are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget
  • Developing project scopes and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility
  • Working in close collaboration with Regulatory, Quality and Business functions
  • Manage a team, by scheduling, coaching, counselling, and disciplining the employees
  • Develop a detailed project plan to track progress and manage changes in project scope, schedule and costs
  • Report and escalate to management as needed
  • Manage the relationship with the client and all stakeholders
  • Perform risk management to minimize project risks
  • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation

Project Manager Qualifications:.

  • At least a BSc degree, MSc preferred.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in leading commercial product development projects.
  • Proficient with project management principles (e.g., resource allocation, cost estimation, risks analysis).
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications (Project, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Visio).
  • Outstanding orientation to teamwork: works collaboratively, effectively and efficiently with others
  • Strong negotiation skills; can effectively drive discussions and decisions toward desired results
  • Proactive, process oriented and organized
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Fluent written and spoken English

In addition we appreciate:

  • Knowledge in medical device / IVD industry
  • Knowledge in QSR or ISO 13485
  • Project management certification (e.g. IPMA)

The position of Project Manager provides an exciting opportunity for an experienced, highly-motivated individual with strong project management experience and excellent communication skills.  The successful candidate will be expected to demonstrate successful facilitation, organizational, and influencing skills.  This candidate must be able to demonstrate a proven track record in managing a range of complex, high-impact projects simultaneously.
