Job description

We are looking for an R&D Manager to support the design and coordination of R&D projects for the development, piloting and optimization of production processes. In addition, you would contribute to scoping, pre-feasibility and feasibility studies for new unit processes as well as greenfield mineral processes. This will require project management, communication and reporting skills. You would be located in Helsinki, but a fair amount of your work would take place at our subsidiary Terrafame Ltd.’s mine and metals production site in Sotkamo.

A significant part of the assignment requires competence in the coordination and preparation of R&D as well as demonstration projects funded by organizations such as the EU and Business Finland.

Requirements for the applicants

  • At least a Master’s degree in chemistry or chemical engineering/technology
  • Minimum of a few years of experience within the mineral or chemical industries
  • Willingness to take responsibility and ability to learn and apply new things fast
  • Good communication and reporting skills in both Finnish and English
  • Willingness to travel, in both Finland and Europe
  • Project management skills
  • Ability to interact with different stakeholders

What is considered an advantage

  • Experience or knowledge of some of these topics: batteries and battery chemistry, geology, statistical analysis, modelling, industrial processes, environmental responsibility, inorganic chemistry
  • Experience from project management and preparation
