We are looking for an

R&D Manager, Software Engineering

to take the lead in building excellence in software development for KaVo Kerr’s imaging products.

You will ensure delivery of dental imaging software products on time with first-time quality, and lead a world class software team. You will drive the software lifecycle process and champion software development best practices, including Scrum/Agile, design, architecture, code reuse, performance, and quality.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Functional leadership of the software organization, including recruitment, team/talent development, skill set improvement, and mentoring.
  • Understand, teach or sponsor technical skills development in support of high-quality code.
  • Build high-performance Agile teams; establish mission and purpose for individuals and teams.
  • Communicate openly and honestly with all stakeholders; value productivity, quality, transparency, and openness.
  • Eliminate impediments and evolve systems and practices in support of Lean-Agile development.
  • Serve as Agile coach and advisor to scrum teams.
  • Champion, evangelize and demonstrate modern effective practices for software delivery and operations: cross-functional teams, Continuous Delivery, Agile, Lean, MVP and, metrics driven development.
  • Assure that deliverables meet all relevant quality, safety, regulatory, serviceability, and reliability requirements.


  • Bachelor’s or Master´s Degree in Computer Science or in similar relevant field
  • A minimum of 5 years of technical experience along with established leadership credentials in software engineering.
  • 2+ years of software management experience with demonstrated ability to manage teams through complex development projects.
  • 5+ years software development experience using at least two programming languages.
  • Proven ability to build world class software products using Agile development practices and best practices like CI, BDD, and TDD.
  • Strong leadership skills, including proven abilities in motivation, coaching and conflict resolution.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Analytical and problem solving skills - a can-do, roll up your sleeves attitude.

We value:

  • Experience with FDA medical device regulations and guidance.
  • Technical experience in medical imaging, medical device, healthcare IT or related industry.
  • Experience using C++, Objective-C, Golang, C#, .NET in Microsoft technology stack.
  • We also value experience in QT and Protocol Buffers.
