This position might be something for you! We are looking for an R&D Local Deploy Officer to join our Refreshment (Ice Cream and Beverages) business in the Nordics! This position is permanent and you will be based either in Unilever’s office in Helsinki or in Solna, Stockholm.

 

The ice cream market is highly competitive and complex with its market structure and high percentage of impulse singles sold through modern trade. The Nordic countries differ in size, customer/competitor landscape, regulatory environment and consumer taste/preference.  This position deals with these exciting challenges and play an important part in driving the creation and delivery of innovative products across our world-renowned global (e.g. Magnum, Cornetto, Kingis, Lipton), premium (e.g. Ben & Jerry’s), regional and local (e.g. Ingman, GB Glace, Frisko) brands that best meet consumers’ needs. 

 

About the role

As the R&D Local Deploy Officer, you belong to an international team that develops and deploys interesting products. You are mainly responsible for implementing R&D elements into products in the region and in close collaboration with the marketing team, enable continued market growth of the Refreshment portfolio in a sustainable way. With your knowledge of consumers and technologies you also work closely with the marketing team to maximize the impact of our products with customers and consumers.  You act as an expert and business partner on technical matters and provide high quality technical and R&D support across a broad range of products.

 

Key responsibilities

  • Responsible for executing compliance requirements for all Refreshments products in the region. This includes artwork clearance, product registrations and documentation for authority compliance
  • Ensure compliance to technical aspects of environmental and health endorsements for the Refreshment brands which subscribe to them.
  • Influence and educate customers, consumers and business partners on our products and technologies
  • Work with internal stakeholders such as, R&D, Regulatory, Quality, Legal, Customer Development and Marketing to provide expert feedback on claims and communication strategies
  • Help to direct the technical innovation agenda by identifying new technologies, ideas and claim areas via thorough market/competitor investigations

 

Qualifications

  • Degree in a technical, natural science, food technology, engineering, chemistry or related field
  • Work experience in a technical, ideally R&D environment within Refreshments
  • Experience in technical project management
  • Fluent in Finnish and English, both written and spoken. Other Nordic language skills are counted as a benefit, but not mandatory
  • Experience from the FMCG industry or similar is a plus
