If nothing changes, there will be more plastic waste than fish in our oceans by 2050. The amount of unnecessary plastic has increased drastically over the past few decades and there is a great demand for more sustainable alternatives. Sulapac has several sustainable material recipes for various customer needs. Recipes are based on two innovations: Sulapac® is a microplastic-free and fully biodegradable bio composite, which can be used with plastic manufacturers‘ existing machinery. The material is suitable for most production lines with no need to build a new factory.

We are now looking for two talented R&D Chemists/Engineers to strengthen the Team of Sulapac in Finland. The key responsibilities of our new R&D Chemists/Engineers will be design and development of biodegradable natural polymer materials and their manufacturing process. In this position you will be closely collaborating with our internal teams but also with our customers regarding new product development projects. Therefore, good teamwork and communication skills both in Finnish and English are highly appreciated. If you have master’s degree or equal in material science, engineering, chemistry or similar that is a good base for this role.
To succeed we expect you to have at least 2 years’ experience in plastic processing industry and understanding the details in composite/plastics chemistry, materials plus processing techniques and methods. Knowledge of composite/plastics development and manufacturing is a great asset to success in this role as well as knowledge of principles of mold manufacturing and characteristics and/or molding industry. We hope that you will also have experience in processes, procedures and methods of food and/or packaging industry.
