Quality Control (QC) Inspector, Mechanical Engineering

As a QC Inspector in our Mechanical department you are responsible for inspection of mechanical components and their inspection journals to determine fulfilment of requirements in manufacturing, assembly and commissioning phases and later on when the plant is operating. You are responsible for both the inspections of documents and mechanical components, including inspections at manufacturing locations and later on at the site. You coordinate in the quality related activities with the supplier and sub-suppliers, Fennovoima inter-discipline colleagues and Safety Authorities. You also report quality and schedule during the operations. You will ensure and if needed, train suppliers to follow requirements and safety culture principles during the whole process.

Your tasks include e.g.

  • Co-ordination of inspections in sub-suppliers and at the site
  • Co-ordination with Safety Authorities
  • Co-ordination of qualification of inspection and manufacturing methods
  • Participation in supplier evaluation and technical assessment audits

The ideal candidate has:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Minimum 5 years inspection experience about quality control of machines, components and in the field of their manufacturing; inspection experience in nuclear field is appreciable
  • Exposure to technical audits and supplier assessment
  • Material assessment and related certificates
  • Knowledge in destructive / non-destructive methods is an advantage
  • Knowledge in YVL guide requirements, awareness in nuclear safety culture is an advantage
  • Fluent English skills, Finnish and/or Russian skills are an advantage
  • Possibility for intensive travelling (over 50% of working time)

Work location: The work location at first is in Helsinki office but starting in Pyhäjoki office can also be negotiated. Later the work location will be in Pyhäjoki.
