We are looking for a Project Planning and Control Engineer in Valmet's Pulp and Energy Line, Wood And Pulp Handling business unit. The assignment is made for one year fixed-term, with possibility for extension after. This unit designs and delivers new pulp drying and wood handling lines, as well as rebuilds worldwide. Work is done at our office in Ulvila, with a possibility to partly remote work according to the company´s current policy.
As the Project Planning and Control Engineer you support the project teams in managing the schedule and budget of the projects. You will master our planning tools, and train and support other users to get the most out of our tools and process. You will work closely with the Project Manager, site team and subcontractors to give and get information.
Your tasks include:
With time and experience you will also gain insight to be able to propose corrective actions and find solutions to the possible problems in the schedule. You will also get to share your thoughts on how to improve our tools and way of working.
The role can be slightly modified based on your experience, so we welcome applications from both experienced planners and newcomers. However, you should have a Master's or Bachelor's degree in technology or you are finishing your studies. If you have some experience in project planning and scheduling, EPC-projects, or pulp industry, they are considered an advantage. You need good IT skills (especially Excel), and knowledge of scheduling tools such as Safran is highly appreciated. Fluent English skills are needed, both written and spoken, fluent Finnish skills are an advantage. This position includes some travelling.
You understand the big picture and the flow of the project, but you are also good with details and can-do accurate work. An organized and systematic working style is needed, as you will be involved in several projects simultaneously. Even though much of your time will be spent independently working with the planning tools, you need to proactively reach out for information and support and also share your work with others.
You will have a great team of experienced colleagues to support you. This role gives you good insight into high-quality planning in an international environment and can also serve as a starting point to other roles in project management and pulp business.
