We are looking for a Project Manager to our Woodhandling team, your work location can be Ulvila or Raisio. Our Pulp and Energy Business Line’s Wood & Pulp Handling Technology unit provides technologies and solutions to the pulp mills and other wood product businesses, with projects around the world ranging from equipment deliveries to complete systems on turnkey basis.
As Project Manager you will manage our delivery projects from definition phase to project completion. Your main responsibility is to lead the project with the support of your own project team ensuring fulfillment of contractual obligations and securing the project to a predictable financial result. Your responsibilities include project execution planning, contract management, budget estimating and follow-up, schedule management, internal and external reporting, risk & opportunity management, communication with different stakeholders as well as management of possible contractual disputes with customers and subcontractors.
An important part your job is to develop the interface between Valmet and the customer, as that is usually the way to best outcomes. The Project Manager will also offer support during the sales phase, overseeing that the contractual obligations are realistic from a project execution perspective and ensuring a smooth transfer from sales to execution.
To be successful in this position, you should have a suitable technical education (M.Sc. or a B.Sc.), solid experience in project management tasks in industrial environment and a proven track record of leading projects successfully. Experience from international projects would be beneficial and you should have adequate English skills, both written and spoken. This position requires travelling.
You are customer-oriented, tenacious, self-driven and have excellent communication skills. Proactive attitude, cooperation skills and an active communication style are essential to this position, as you will lead and pull together several stakeholder groups. It is important, that you are able to motivate your project team to meet both the customer’s expectations as well as the projects financial targets. You are prepared to justify your views and even enjoy the occasional debate. You work independently and can make informed decisions in sometimes changing and uncertain situations.
