We are looking for a Project Manager to join Axopar´s growing community
With the growth of the company and its boat range, Axopar is looking to further strengthen its Product Development function. There is a need for a new Project Manager to take responsibility for coordinating and driving various product development projects.
As a Project Manager you will have the overall responsibility for your own project portfolio activities that can range from early-stage concept development and delivering class-approved documentation to commissioning and project follow up. Your key responsibilities include producing technical content, planning, contracting, budgeting, scheduling, allocating resources and reporting. You are in charge of stakeholder management, especially communication between internal and external resources, clients, and other stakeholders.
You will ensure that development projects are delivered on time, on budget, and meeting the concept that the innovation team has set forth. There are typically 3-5 boat model projects ongoing simultaneously, with project times ranging from 6-18 months. In addition to this, you will also have some other small projects running on the side. A key part of your role is to anticipate and proactively remove obstacles and risks in order to ensure that each project runs smoothly to plan.
What do we expect from you?
We expect you to be a professional Project Manager who is able to participate in technical discussions and to be an effective decision maker. Previous experience of leading demanding technical product development projects and managing international/multi-site project teams, potentially with subcontractors, will help you to succeed in this role. We also expect you to have a solid educational background, such as Bachelor or Master’s degree in engineering or other relevant field. Working in an international context, excellent English language skills are necessary and ideally you would also have good Finnish skills.
As a person you are resilient and not afraid of challenges. You have an entrepreneurial mindset and a structured hands-on approach to work. You are used to managing projects with limited support resources and are able to troubleshoot problems before they could derail a project. You are also interested in developing our processes and raising the bar. With solid management skills, you are able to have a constructive dialogue with highly qualified specialists in their field.
We wish you to have a genuine interest in the boat industry and a willingness to continuously develop your professional skills as a part of our rapidly growing business.
We offer you a comprehensive and exciting role in a fast growing, international company where everyone’s opinion is valued, and creative ideas are always actively encouraged. Our working environment is forward-thinking, positive and friendly - at Axopar, we all share a love for boating, sports, adventure and outdoor activities. We will help you to succeed by providing you with a comprehensive onboarding and great opportunities to develop your skills and abilities. We have a flexible working environment, you can choose to work in our cosy office in Vaasa or to enjoy sea views at our Salmisaari office in Helsinki, with the opportunity to work partly remotely as well. We also offer you good employment benefits, such as a lunch benefit and insurances for both leisure and traveling.
