We are looking for a
Project Controller
to join our Cost Engineering team at Neste Global Project Control. The job is located in Kilpilahti, Porvoo, but you can also work at our HQ in Espoo, or remotely anywhere in Finland where you find yourself most productive.
We have two medium-sized teams of Project & Cost Control professionals working in Cost Engineering. Our teams are responsible for providing accurate information about the progress and financial status of our industrial plant investment projects and portfolios. We are motivated to deliver results and we have constant desire & curiosity to develop our ways of working by introducing modern, smart & efficient methods of project control. Alongside delivering results and developing tools & processes, we also highly appreciate work well being and having fun at work.
Your main responsibilities in creating a sustainable future are
Plan, schedule & execute cost control responsibilities from small to large scale projects independently
Handle multiple projects simultaneously and may take project portfolio level responsibility from cost control perspective
Design project control procedures & methods and contribute to development initiatives
Manage change by facilitating the projects’ change management process and ensuring the preparation and documentation of change orders
As a core member of the project management team, actively participate and support the project & portfolio managers in all aspects of project management
Strive to get all relevant project stakeholders engaged in future oriented project control and especially in monitoring, controlling and forecasting the project costs
You will work closely with Project Managers and other project key personnel such as specialists from e.g. Engineering, Construction Management and Procurement. You will also cooperate with Project Control function’s other professionals from Cost Engineering, Cost Estimating and Project Planning. You will support project, portfolio & investment management in efforts on executing investment projects successfully as planned. You will report to Project Control Group Manager based in Kilpilahti, Porvoo.
The best combination to success in this role
B.Sc. or M.Sc. from business, engineering, or applicable combination of those
At least couple of years work experience in cost engineering, project control, or alternatively experience in e.g. business / financial controlling / analysis, project management or similar
Expertise on financial & operational monitoring, reporting, analyzing and forecasting
English and Finnish skills, both spoken and written
Good collaboration skills with proficiency to influence others
Ability to prioritize work and coordinate tasks
Proactive and solution-seeking style of taking initiative
We also value
Relevant certifications on Project Control or Project Management (e.g. from AACE, IPMA, PMI)
Experience from EPCM projects, preferably on multinational environment
Experience on SAP / Aveva ERM / PowerBI / Silverbucket
Commitment in long term
