We are looking for a Process Safety Manager to join our HSSEQ team in Porvoo, Finland.

Our HSSEQ team in Porvoo is responsible for the oversight and development of site safety management activities in Neste’s Oil Products operations to support our ambition of being the most sustainable refinery in Europe by 2030.

Your part in Neste journey

In this role, you will report to the Head of HSSEQ, Oil Products. Your main responsibilities include

• Serve as the primary Process Safety expert resource within HSSEQ, Oil Products
• Responsible for the continuous development of relevant Process Safety Standards and Procedures as well as oversee their implementation in Oil Products
• Developing Process Safety awareness and culture in Neste, Oil Products
• Provide expert advice in the interpretation and application of Recognized and Generally Accepted Good Engineering Practices (RAGAGEP) codes and standards in both business as usual and for investment projects
• Providing subject matter expertise and HSSEQ support for plant investment projects in Oil Products, Finland
• Being responsible for Process Safety competency building within Oil Products HSSEQ and collaborating with stakeholders to deliver training also to site personnel
• Representing Oil Products HSSEQ at Neste Group HSSEQ level including active participation in company development working groups
• Oversight of regulatory and internal compliance requirements including the implementation of Neste’s Operations Excellence Management System (OEMS)
• Participation in relevant process safety audits across Neste, including international locations
• Maintaining allocated parts of the OEMS in the Oil Products organization and ensure continual improvements according to ISO 45 001

You will work closely with Neste Oil Products operations and HSSEQ teams as well as the Neste Corporate HSSEQ team..

Keys to success in this role

3+ years of proven experience in HSSEQ and working within Process Safety critical / high hazard facilities

• Proven track record in working within the chemical and process industries (petroleum refining and/or petrochemical) is a significant benefit
• Strong technical foundation in Process Safety Management in industry including proficiency and experience in Process Hazard Analysis
• Fluency and familiarity with Finnish legislative requirements and working with regulatory authorities such as Tukes
• Track record of managing and achieving continual improvement of an ISO 45 001 accredited organization. Familiarity with ISO 9 001 and 14 001 are a benefit
• Relevant Masters level degree, for example: chemical, mechanical or process engineering

Highly motivated and self managing with strong leadership style embodying operational excellence

• Values driven individual continually seeking incident free operations, building our Safety culture and driving continually improvement
• Proven ability to successfully work with teams across functional HSSEQ and operational organizations
• Ability to drive through improvements and to lead multiple high priority projects simultaneously
• People oriented leadership style thriving in a fast-paced, agile workplace: proactive, assertive with a sense of urgency to problem solving

Ability to build relationships and grow capabilities with internal and external stakeholders

• Ability to collaborate with Operations, HSSEQ partners and other stakeholders to develop and implement HSSEQ improvement plans
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills - fluent in both Finnish and English language
