VTT Food research is focusing on developing innovations that enable transition towards more sustainable food ecosystem. The team aims at developing new sustainable food manufacturing solutions via utilizing novel processing approaches and multi-functional hybrid ingredients that meet consumer needs and preferences.
With us you will be responsible for
building the excellence in consumer-centric and sustainable food manufacturing. You are expected to take a strong role in designing new food ingredient and process technologies that enable engaging consumer to the food manufacturing chain. Specifically, we are looking for a principal research scientist in the area of food engineering. The applicant is expected to have concrete knowledge on food processing and unit operations and how to effectively integrate food research with other disciplines such as electrical engineering, mechatronics, as well as health and nutrition solutions. Passion to work for Food Economy 4.0 vision paths is highly appreciated.
We expect you to have
- Completed PhD degree in food science and technology or relevant field.
- Track record in applying project funding and ability to conduct academic and contract research within an interdisciplinary environment
- Practical and theoretical experience in process design
- Excellent communication, reporting and organizational skills
- Wide networks within food industry as well as scientific community
