We’re now looking for a

Portfolio Manager

based in our Espoo office

Portfolio Manager will manage priced inventory exposures and hedge positions within Gasum portfolio to maximize profitability across Nordic countries in industrial, marine and power segments. Gasum manages natural gas and LNG contracts and this position monitors market conditions to make recommendations on trading and hedging open positions to mitigate risks and create value. This person must be business driven and customer focused and possess strong understanding in commodity and energy markets.

Your main responsibilities will be:

  • Managing priced inventory within risk limits defined by risk policy and hedging with financial products
  • Planning, developing and executing portfolio management strategies into hedging ideas based on short- and long-term signal (LNG, gas hubs and oil products related positions)
  • Coordinating with portfolio team to hedge effectively long-term contracts and actively develop hedging strategies
  • Optimizing LNG sourcing balance
  • Implementing of improvements in team portfolio management processes - portfolio analysis, performance reporting and IT tools
  • Supporting and coordinating operations with logistics team
  • Other tasks as occasionally required to achieve the goals of the business unit

Required experience and personal qualities:

You’re the Portfolio Manager we’re looking for if you have a few years’ diverse experience in a variety of commodity and portfolio management duties and are interested in the energy sector. You’re very familiar with energy markets (energy commodities), general business practices, portfolio management and financial products. In addition, you understand risk management and optimization practices commonly used in energy industry to manage price and volume risk. You have strong analytical and quantitative mindset to analyse and interpret large amounts of data. You’re a flexible and cooperative team player with plenty of initiative. You’re a goal-oriented and able to operate independently in your everyday work. This role requires fluent written and spoken Finnish and English. Swedish is an advantage.
