Plumber to work on a full-time basis (40h/week). The position requires completion of secondary-level education, a good working knowledge (Level III) of written and spoken English and Finnish, proficiency in MS Office, and a local driver’s license. The work assignments will be directed by the Building Engineer or the Facility Manager.
Performs skilled maintenance and repair work to the facilities’ mechanical and plumbing systems throughout the Embassy compound buildings, grounds, warehouse, and residential owned/leased properties.
Education: Completion of vocational training from an accredited institute recognized as producing journeyman level technicians with a concentration in plumbing principles and application.
Experience: A minimum of three years of experience as a repair mechanic or maintenance technician working with plumbing systems in an institutional or commercial building setting.
Skills: Diagnosing and repairing filtration systems, water pumps, and hot water systems; testing potable water system components, monitoring of chemical and salt, and taking equipment readings with various meters, hand tools, power tools, and specialty tools to determine appropriate repairs. Ability to install plumbing required for diesel fuels; distinguishing frequencies and sounds, color codes and odors in the operation of equipment in order to troubleshoot for repairs.
