Phase1 is Orion's a paid trainee program for university and university of applied sciences students. During the summer you get inspiring tasks and get to know other trainees on events. You have also a possibility to network with other orionees through mentoring.
Description of position
We are looking for summer trainees to our Protein and Antibody Engineering laboratories. As a summer trainee you will participate in the daily laboratory work. You will work closely with our scientists using a wide range of techniques and depending on your experience and interests the tasks will be focused on cell culturing, protein production, or protein characterization with various biophysical methods. You do not necessarily need Finnish for this task. The summer job is located in Turku and it will begin in May or June and last for 3-4 months.
Description of unit
The Protein and Antibody Engineering unit is part of Orion's R&D organization and responsible for bringing forward our antibody projects from the initial idea to the selection of a candidate molecule for clinical development as well as supporting all parts of Orion R&D with our expertise within protein production, engineering, and characterization. The laboratories are under constant development and you have a great opportunity to contribute and play a valuable part in our research projects and activities.

To succeed in this job we expect you to have a background in protein chemistry, molecular biology, cell culture, or other field relevant to our activities. Experience from a research lab will be appreciated. Training in specific instruments or techniques will take place at Orion as part of the program. We also hope that you are approaching the end of you studies, maximum of 1 year remaining in the Master's degree.
