(Technical sales driven role)

We are now looking for Paper Technology Manager for Valmet Paper Mills (PM) Business Unit in Capital Sales. In this position, you will have good view to whole Paper industry, and you will utilize the best practices from Valmet installed base in new machine sales. You will be proudly presenting Valmet Paper technologies and products to our customers in Asia Pacific area.

In this stimulating role, you are the technical and commercial support to the sales network in capital projects and solutions for paper technologies. You will also be responsible of promoting new products and improvement concepts. To be successful in this position, frequent customer visits are important as well as participation in training and support of the area sales network.


You will be working closely both with local sales and PM business unit sales team, acting as an umbrella in leveraging all our capabilities in capital sales projects. You will play a lead role in discussion with customer, co-ordination with technology and business unit to help them in preparing technical proposals, commercial quotations/ negotiation and in final contract preparation. As your backup, you have all the information and expertise of Valmet’s organization. The most important task is to understand the needs of the customer and utilize that knowledge to make Valmet proposals most attractive for customers payback calculation of new capital investments.

Your office base location is Thailand possible Bangkok or Laem Chabang (Chonburi), alternative India or Indonesia are also possible.

Most of the customer meetings are held at customer premises and you will need ability to travel frequently.  

Expectations

You have a relevant technical education such as Bachelor or Master of Science in paper or process technology or another relevant field.

We appreciate work experience in machine/ process engineering on Paper technologies about 10 years. Experience and interest to work with customers and Paper technology organization around the world especially in Finland is required.

In Valmet, good knowledge of spoken and written English is essential, other languages are an asset. You have willingness and ability to travel frequently.

We expect you to have excellent motivation and attitude, and ability to achieve results also under pressure.

To succeed in this role, you will also need effective written and oral communication skills along with excellent presentation, negotiation and analytical skills.

You also need to have solid understanding of Paper industry and business processes and proven ability to convert customer need and opportunities into sales.

You have an ability to quickly build relationships and achieve results both individually and as part of a team.

We are looking for a Technology Manager for all paper & board grades, so the knowledge of paper process and technology is the main requirement.
