Operations Development Expert
We are now looking for an Operations Development Expert with solid expertise in pulp mill operations to join our Packaging Materials division. This position is based in Finland or Sweden and involves regular visits to the division’s integrated pulp mills which are located in Heinola, Imatra, Varkaus, Skoghall, Fors, Ostroleka and Beihai. At the end of the year also Oulu will be included as one of our Packaging Materials locations.

The main purpose in this role is to provide pulp production expertise, supporting the development of our Continuous Improvement and Packaging Materials Production System agenda. You will work closely with the division Operations Development Director, our production mills and other Stora Enso pulp and energy resources for example the Pulp Competence Center.
Providing senior level expertise and coaching to the organisation, harmonising processes if possible, and thereby, strengthening our operational performance is the key responsibility of this role. You will support the continuous improvement of operational results by sharing tools and best practices with the mills’ operations personnel. Actively networking within our company and with relevant external stakeholders and keeping track of world class operations practices will help you achieve your goals.

In order to succeed in this role, it is essential that you have minimum of 10 years of experience working with pulping and energy processes as well as a master’s degree or similar education in a relevant area such as pulping or energy. In addition, you have a strong track record in change management and Lean implementation. You understand Lean and Zero Loss philosophies in operations. Previous experience in manufacturing, preferably in a multi-national and multi-cultural environment is also required.
We expect you to have good interpersonal skills and a natural interest to involve people. Your focus should be on achieving results of a high standard and having a true impact on the operations of the pulp mills. You are able to gain a comprehensive view with excellent analytical skills. Ability to communicate fluently in English and willingness to travel regularly is essential.
