We are now looking for


You ensure that the safety properties of a ship will be realized in different phases of design process. You participate in creating new ship concepts in sales and assist project teams with newbuilding projects.

Main responsibilities:

  • You design the main safety principles in new ship concepts.
  • You negotiate with shipowners and class societies about ships’ technical properties and participate in creating technical contract documentation.
  • You act as a ship’s safety expert in newbuilding projects.
  • You follow the development of the field in different international forums.
  • You share knowledge for the yards other employees in general.

We request the following:

  • Applicable technical backgroud (e.g. M.Sc. /B.Sc. in naval architecture)
  • General knowledge of ships and systems.
  • Creativity and systematic way of thinking – ability to organize and prioritise.
  • Good verbal and written skills in English language.
  • Good co-operation and presentation skills.
  • Knowledge of general CAD –programs.
  • Previous experience and/or knowledge from ship safety or fire engineering or other fields of expertise in naval architecture are regarded as credit.
