to be employed by Sandvik.
The position is permanent and located in Sandvik’s Turku site which is a global technology and manufacturing center for loading and hauling equipment. The recruitment process is handled by Staffpoint and the employment contract will be signed directly with Sandvik. Your role
As a Model-Based Design Engineer, you will be joining our BHEV business unit team. The focus in the position is on diesel-electric and hybrid vehicles. Your key task is to specify the functionality of the vehicle’s control system, develop control logic, control algorithms, and optimize its performance by using model-based design. This includes the whole life cycle from designing, implementing, testing and verifying new functionalities. You will be designing and implementing new functionality to machine control systems with Matlab/Simulink for e.g. electric powertrain, hydraulics, cooling etc. Validating control functionalities in simulated and real-life environments as well as troubleshooting issues in prototype vehicles/systems is also a crucial part of your work.
Suitable degree in a related field, preferably B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Computer Science, Automation or similar.
Useful skills: Matlab/Simulink or equivalent, PLC programming languages, Embedded SW/HW, Control Theory, HIL, CAN, Systems Engineering.
Knowledge of relevant standards and/or experience in mobile machinery or automotive industry are highly valued.
Experience in developing and simulating functionalities using Matlab/Simulink or equivalent, preferably for embedded systems.
Experience with Python and / or data science.
You are a good team player in a multicultural stakeholder environment.
You communicate fluently in English (Finnish is an advantage).
