Are you a freshly graduated Master of Science or Ph.D. in one of the following disciplines:

  • Minerals Processing
  • Mineralogy (Geology)
  • Chemical Engineering (e.g. inorganic chemistry, process engineering, reaction engineering, precipitation, evaporation & crystallization)
  • Hydrometallurgy (e.g. leaching / solvent extraction / ion exchange)
  • Pyrometallurgy
  • Materials Engineering
  • Electrochemistry
  • Mechanical Engineering (pressure equipment)
  • Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD)

and eager to learn and deepen your knowledge to become a recognised expert in an international context?

We are now looking for metallurgists / engineers to strengthen and complement our capabilities and competences in our technology development and customer testing organisation. The position is permanent, and you will be located in Outotec Research Center in Pori, Finland.

As Metallurgists (Competence Development Program), you will:

  • Participate and contribute in a 2-year competence development program to get your journey started towards an acknowledged expert in Outotec
  • Develop a deep knowledge in one area of expertise and gain understanding of related technologies
  • Lead and participate R&D projects including project planning, execution (managing laboratory and pilot plant testwork), process flowsheet modelling & simulation and reporting
  • Provide support to Sales e.g. customer related testwork and technology support
  • Participate in commissioning and start-ups in customer sites
  • Be part of an expert team or cross functional team giving you the required support

To succeed, you will need:

  • Master's or Ph.D. degree in above mentioned or related fields
  • Open minded and proactive attitude
  • Eagerness to learn and challenge yourself
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Fluent communication skills in English, both written and oral
  • Creative collaborative problem solving and analytical thinking skills
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments, priorities, and deadlines
