We are looking for a high caliber and highly experienced Site Manager to primarily manage the mega projects in Valmet’s Pulp and Energy business line portfolio.
Your site organization will comprise of construction managers from individual technology packages and your job will be to ensure a collective drive to fulfil the contract requirements with a unified Valmet approach as well as make sure that safety, performance, financial, and quality targets are all achieved.
Your responsibilities start from the planning phase ensuring a smooth site establishment and develop a solid construction plan. As the construction starts you have a team of experts to support you through your journey to a timely project completion. Our customers demand that we are competitive, and you will support our organization to develop and drive for efficient performance and continuously look for synergies. You are also an avid preacher of continuous improvement and vigorously drive the feedback forward in the organization. You will be the face towards our customer during site phase and it is important to carry out the collaboration with a unified Valmet approach and message. You need to be a good communicator whether it is for executive summaries or details in specific expert matter areas. As a site manager your responsibility is to influence the discussions with relevant internal and external stakeholders to ensure you achieve your targets.
During the project you will primarily report to the Project Director.
The primary 'home base' location for this position can be any of Valmet's Nordic locations. Majority of the work will be site based in different parts of the world.
To be successful in this position you have:
Solid track record from working with EPC site management including mega projects with at least 10 years of experience
A relevant education background (Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Construction or Engineering)
Good overview of all construction disciplines and hold a deep expertise on specific trade f.ex. mechanical, civil or electrical
Competency and ability to develop modern project and site management tools and processes
Knowledge of the best practices particularly for quality and cost management with the ability to apply them to different circumstances
Ability to get others onboard with your vision to construct and close projects while working according to Valmet’s site management processes
Excellent interpersonal skills to motivate, build trust and manage different expectations. You are competent to lead a team of people that are away from their permanent homes and families and you have a proven track record of being able to create a positive environment in which we will receive the best performance and result
Excellent proficiency in English is essential and ability in Swedish and/or Finnish would also be beneficial but not mandatory
