Mechanics Sourcing Manager

Our materials team is in search of their next great colleague! We’re looking for a person who’s keen on performing on practical level, but also has vision and ideas to share as well as vigor to put them into practice. 

The responsibilities would mainly consist of: 

  • Market screening of technology trends and potential suppliers for mechanical technologies and assemblies 
  • Supplier assessments 
  • Supplier base and supplier relationship development and management 
  • Negotiations and agreements with suppliers 
  • Should cost modeling for parts and assemblies 
  • RFI & RFQ processes & orders for prototyping 
  • Managing materials availability 
  • Managing materials quality 
  • Participation in the continuous development of Bittium sourcing working practices

What we appreciate in candidates: 

  • Suitable education, e.g. Master or Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering 
  • Experience from mechanics engineering and sourcing 
  • Good understanding of product technologies, manufacturing technologies, related cost 
    and capacity elements and quality 
  • Good understanding of terms and conditions in purchasing agreements, experience from contract negotiations 
  • Good IT, communication, language and networking skills to work efficiently with both internal stake holders and material suppliers. 
  • Solid experience in ERP and good skills in Excel 
  • Systematic and disciplined behavior, ability to see the big picture while paying attention for details 
  • Ability to work independently within given tasks and responsibility areas 
  • Professional pride and ambition to excel in sourcing subject
