We are looking for a Mechanical Expert at ABB Oy, Motors and Generators unit in Helsinki. As a Mechanical Expert, you will be working in the Global Technical Support Team, which is part of the Research & Development organization.

Your responsibilities will include structural dimensioning as well as strength and dynamic analysis of electrical motors and generators. You will work in close co-operation with sales, production units and product development globally, providing high-level technical support related to your area of expertise. This dynamic and challenging position will provide you an outstanding opportunity to deepen your know-how of the electrical motors and generators technology and business.

We require a M.Sc. in mechanical engineering. We appreciate knowledge in the field of material strength, analytical assessment skills, and know-how related to structural analysis (FEM). Knowledge of different materials and phenomena related to vibration and component fatigue is a strong advantage. Work experience in mechanical engineering of metal structures is considered as an advantage.

You are an outgoing person who is open to new ideas and has the capability to make spontaneous decisions. The ability to work both in a team as well as on your own is a valued quality. A good command of English and Finnish is required in this position; familiarity with Microsoft Office and skills related to FEM programs, such as NX or ANSYS, are appreciated.
